JOB OVERVIEW: Leads the shipboard Human Resources Team and serves as a strategic business partner for our internal guests – our shipboard clients – by supporting the overall crew experience aboard our vessels and our private island. Ensures the Disney Cruise Line people strategies are aligned with our overall business objectives. Focuses on talent planning, diversity and inclusion, and performance management. Acts as HR Generalist and serves as the primary point of contact for crew employee relations, learning development opportunities, compensation washington dc area hotels and benefits questions, washington dc area hotels HR Services initiatives, and crew communication and recognition. Partners with the Staff Captain to interpret and administer policy consistently and fairly. Coaches leadership and direct reports, providing direction on personal washington dc area hotels and professional development. The Manager, HR reports to the Captain as well as the shoreside Manager, HR and has 2-4 direct reports.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years experience working within a HR operation; depth of experience in at least one HR functional area: Compliance, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, HR Services, and/or Workforce Planning and Administration (compensation and benefits). Minimum of 2 years in a leadership washington dc area hotels and/or washington dc area hotels Operations washington dc area hotels role. Exceptional working knowledge and experience of employee relations concepts and practices. Advanced education degree in HR or similar field preferred. Previous experience within the cruise industry, hospitality industry and/or Disney experience in an HR capacity required.
