I was scammed by the Dollar rent-a-car gas scam in Las Vegas last month. I filled the tank up 5 minu

Car rental companies are notorious for tacking on hidden extra charges when you you get your bill ,but Dollar Rent A Car has one that takes the cake. Dollar now has a refuel charge if you return the car with the tank full but you don't have a receipt . Yes even if the tank is full they have figured out a new way to add charges. The charge is hidden they never tell you how much is the charge for not having the receipt . The extra charge is figured out on their computer AFTER they check to make sure your tank is full. So you fill up the tank but in the rush to return the car you don't get a receipt or pay cash, what difference should it make it make if the tank is returned full? How can there be a fuel charge for a full tank? Sounds crazy so we went undercover to find out. Well it's all true and very sleazy . It can be stopped ;tell us your story .Email us at investigativeguy@gmail.com , as we will fight for consumers and demand refunds . Yes you may be entitled to compensation if you got hit with this scheme.

This same exact scenario happened to me last week in Seattle with Thrifty. northwest airline tickets (12-10-2012) When I returned the car, there was no request for a receipt, although I had just filled it. SHe took in the car, and handed me my receipt. When I looked closely at the additional charge later, I found a charge for $8.99. I returned the car less than 2 miles and 6 minutes from filling it up.
When they add the additional charge to your rental bill, this reflects that the rental company northwest airline tickets recognizes that the car is not full. Do they fill it up prior to renting to the next person? I m betting not. They rent to the next person, who unknowingly takes a car that is not full, who in turn fills it. The cycle continues .So not only does the first person get ripped off, every (emphasis added) follow on renter northwest airline tickets gets ripped off.
I am an acquaintance of Gary who passed along the following correspondence to me a while back after I shared with him a bad experience we had with Dollar-Thrifty this past summer in Vancouver as detailed in the attached correspondence.
The company insisted that we are responsible since my wife signed an inspection report showing no damage upon vehicle pickup. The problem is that no inspection took place as my wife was advised by their counter representative when she picked up the vehicle "it was not necessary to check the vehicle as it was fine".
I might be less skeptical about this seemingly shady practice except for the fact that upon returning our damaged vehicle we overheard another Dollar-Thrifty (or is it Dollar-Shifty) employee northwest airline tickets telling a different northwest airline tickets customer the same thing.
Shame on us for trusting people, and lesson learned. It will not happen again in our case, especially as we will not rent from Dollar-Shifty again, but thought I would pass this along in case you have heard from others that this is in their bag of tricks!! If so, and you can bring it to the attention of other prospective northwest airline tickets victims that would be great!
I was scammed by the Dollar rent-a-car gas scam in Las Vegas last month. I filled the tank up 5 minutes before returning the car. Naturally, I threw the receipt away, not realizing I would need it. When I returned the car the attendant said the tank is not full, I looked and saw that the fuel gauge needle was a smidgen below the full line almost, but not quite touching it. That s exactly where it had been when I first rented the car.
The original Hot Links email advertisement I received stated I could have a rental car for $14.95. northwest airline tickets By the time they and Dollar rent a car were finished tagging on spurious fees it was over $94.00. These companies are out of control!
I watched with interest your video about the Dollar Rental Car gas rip off. They may have another great rip off that we got caught with. The chipped windshield. We rented from them, drove the car 45 minutes to the inn we were staying at, never used the car while there, then drove back and returned the car. Never did anything hit the windshield while driving. But low and behold, clean away some dirt from the windshield and there was a tiny little chip. Cost me 250.00 for the windshiled, but they were nice enough to waive the lost revenue fee if I paid immediatly. Next time we rented I checked the windshield carefully before accepting the car and guess what, a chipped windshield, imagine that!
