I have been using my ACC extensively and find it works very well. It does everything but make an obscene gesture at the guy cutting off your assured-clear-distance. Is this a Mercedes derived feature like the all speed traction control, or is it a Chrysler developed system? If the system applies braking, does it signal with brake lights?
Way back when I was waiting for the 2011 Chrysler 300C (which even now has yet to materialize), I was out checking the blogs for some comments from people who had adaptive cruise. Nada. So here's my opinion budget hotels and negril jamaica and observations on the adaptive cruise on my 2011 Charger in case anyone is out looking for some feedback on it. Please chime in if you have anything to add. Someone will appreciate it.
You've got 3 distance settings, close, medium and far. I think close is a wee bit too close so I use medium. Coming budget hotels and negril jamaica down a hill it gets as close to a slower car as it's ever going to get, and at bottom and starting to climb the next hill it gets as far away as it will get. It's not much difference but it's there. As advertised, when the slower guy in front changes lanes it accelerates back to set speed. Same if you're the one changing lanes. There's a delay of about a second before it accelerates when the lane clears. Here's the magic part... on a curvy road the car in front can go WAY through the curve but the cruise will still match his speed, even though that car is as far to the right or left as a car in front of you would be if he simply changed lanes. How do it know? It's pretty good. Another thing... like I said, if you change lanes from behind a slower car it takes about a second before it accelerates, BUT, if you use your turn signal BEFORE you change lanes (like normal), it starts accelerating as soon as the blinker comes on. Now how slick is that?
I have noticed that when a car in front slows down and changes lanes (like when he's getting into a turn lane to turn), the cruise will continue to slow you down as though the car is still in front of you. Not for long but longer than I would like to see. I think it has to do this since it's possible that you're in a curve and the guy ahead is slowing as he entered the curve.
On a 2-lane road and the car in front slows to turn off, the cruise will apply a fair amount of braking. (This is the part where my wife does 50 OMGs in 2 seconds.) If he gets out of your way before you hit 15mph the cruise will accelerate you back to set speed. Not too fast but decent enough. If you get down below 15 you'll hear a series of beeps and the cruise will disengage.
Speaking of beeps... was driving one day, not on cruise, about 45mph, and the car about 200 feet ahead hits his brakes and his rear end rises slightly. You knew he hit his brakes pretty hard. The Charger knew too, and sounded the collision avoidance alarm a split second after his brake lights came on. Very impressive. Occasionally the collision alarm doesn't give me credit for being awake, as it will sound off when someone slows to turn off and I assume budget hotels and negril jamaica he's not gonna stop mid-turn. You know how you do. You run right up on his butt just as he clears the road. Mr. Charger doesn't like that.
All in all I'm very impressed with the system. As an engineer, both in hardware and software, I can appreciate what's going on behind the scenes to pull all this off. Someone did their homework, and did it right.
Though every once in a while I imagine the guy behind me wants me to close the gap, as to not let people in front of me, and he'll recklessly budget hotels and negril jamaica speed around me - doesn't bother me, the ACC knows what to do and slows down accordingly.
I think it knows steering angle input to help track the vehicle ahead on curves. I don't think the sensor is directional to any extent except it may have some idea how much to the right or left of the beam the tracked car is. The display is helpful, as it does show if a vehicle ahead is being tracked and shows the number of spacing marks you have the distance set for. It doesn't like undulating roads (up and down). This is the only time I have to use regular cruise budget hotels and negril jamaica mode. I would still like to know for sure that it sends a brake light signal to the car behind. The only other car I have ever heard of this feature on is a Mercedes.
The situation on a 2 lane highway setting when a car in front moves over into a dedicated left hand turn lane the Charger really applies the brakes pretty hard. If i was following budget hotels and negril jamaica myself I would be caught off guard and pretty upset.
Also it was dark and I usually can tell if the brake lights illuminate from the mirrors and I did not notice that they did. But at the effort the car was braking I hope the brake lights do illuminate and can not imagine they dont but I can not confirm this as of yet.
On the interstate budget hotels and negril jamaica It would be nice if there was some type of distance to interaction meter so I could know just as it was to start the slowdown budget hotels and negril jamaica so I could move out to the passing lane just prior without exposing myself anymore than need be in the fast lane.
Please do me a favor and put a piece of tape over the sensor on the front of the car and tell us what happens. I was afraid of getting this option because of trash or bugs covering the sensor what would happen then?

They do come on. On the phone with my wife who was behind me; she says they do come on. But they only came on with a fair bit of deceleration. I guess engine braking accounted for the light decel without braking.

Great suggestion. Like, a thin variable length line in the EVIC representing distance. And white if the car is equal or faster than your cruise, yellow if you're approaching a slower car and the system has yet to reduce speed, and green if it's tracking and at a lower speed than cruise. Or something like that. This is something we should get Apple to design.

It's radar (at an astonishing 75GHz!), so unless it's metallic it won't bother it. A layer of snow might affect it somewhat. VERY heavy rain has no effect. In fact, I find ACC extremely useful in blinding rain, where I can't really tell if those brake lights ahead is some guy riding his brakes or if they really are slowing down.
