Even though you already knew TSA officers can be quite rude when dealing with them in the security lines, there is now evidence of TSA officers stealing valuables from your checked bags at the airport! You better make sure you have all your things locked up or kept close to you because over 400 officers have been convicted of theft in the past decade.
Pythias Brown, a former TSA officer, claims to have stolen over $800,000 worth of items from passengers who checked their bags onto flights at Newark Liberty International Airport.  Brown says at the airport he worked at, theft was extremely common and easy to get away with between TSA officers.
Now, Brown did what some probably called idiotic, but authorities say he supposedly stole camera equipment from HBO and CNN video crews who were flying with Continental Airlines and tried to sell it on eBay! Unfortunately for Brown, a CNN employee saw the stolen equipment on eBay and contacted local authorities, who traced it back to Pythias Brown.
The TSA claims to have a zero-tolerance policy with theft and has released florida dinner cruise a statement to ABC news saying it disputes that theft is a widespread problem, saying the number of officers fired represents less than one-half of one percent of officers that have been employed by TSA.
Even though Brown has gone to prison and has been publicly humiliated, he says he wanted to speak publicly about this situation to warn future passengers of all major airlines about TSA s alleged thieving ways.
