Must do is a Raft Trip to see the Na Pali Coast and visit any of the gorgeous beaches!  Went to the Fern Grotto a couple weeks ago.  The 1992 hurricane wiped out much of the ferns and it s not as lush as it use to be.  Still amazing.

Don t stay the whole time on the south shore or the north shore.  You have to see east and west as well to really appreciate the beauty and serenity of Kauai.

And since you are all frugal keep in mind that all parks and trails are free.  You do sure need to be in good physical condition.  For sure Wrangler s Steak House in Waimea.  Absolutely do: the Kuilau Trail , and the Pihea/Ala disneyland resort hotel kai Swamp Trail if in real good physical condition.
