I was recently in San Francisco to speak at a conference held at one of the many large hotels in Union Square. Despite all of the many offerings travel distance from germany to africa in the immediate area, including some old favorites, I had to go farther afield. Perhaps it was too much time in the windowless ballroom. I needed travel distance from germany to africa some place new.
San Francisco is, of course, awash in opportunities for great dining. On this trip I had one night when I would be dining alone and so I sought out a spot where I could eat at the bar. Bar Agricole filled my need admirably. Cocktails are a specialty and starting the evening with one was a necessity. I chose a Brown Derby (bourbon, grapefruit, lemon, honey, and bitters) travel distance from germany to africa which took the edge off a travel day. A half-dozen oysters followed travel distance from germany to africa and then a housemade pasta special. The portion was moderate though it was rich enough that I was full when I finished.
The next night, I dined with a fellow speaker from the conference. We headed travel distance from germany to africa to Catch in the Castro.  We sat next to the internal fire pit which was welcome given that it was a cool, drizzly night. I started with mussels sauteed with chorizo travel distance from germany to africa and harissa in a spicy coconut broth. For a main, I chose the seared halibut with asparagus and pancetta. It was all fresh and delicious. A Frog s Leap Sauvignon Blanc made it that much better. Given that we were in one of the most expensive cities in the world, the tab was reasonable.
My hotel was the Parc 55 Wyndham . It was a generic large conference hotel with nothing much to recommend it over others in terms of physical plant. However I found the front desk staff to be exceptionally helpful. I came to them with several questions and requests. Each was taken care of efficiently and with a smile.
