I've been through Frankfurt many times, but in the past few years (though it is obviously rapidly changing) air travel within Europe and particularly Germany has been cheaper and more convenient than rail.
Here's a great example of why I steered you to sites like Kayak.com OP instead of asking questions about flight on this site. You get answers here that range from useless to just plain wrong (the suggestion about booking direct with airlines falls into the latter category, the rest of #11 falls into the former)
