Hotel Investment Services, disney contemporary hotel Inc. is deeply saddened by the devastating fire that destroyed the main building disney contemporary hotel of our Michillinda Lodge property early yesterday morning.  The hotel was closed for the season and we are grateful that no one was injured in this terrible tragedy.
Michillinda Lodge is a beautiful and well-loved historic 110 year old property and a favorite vacation spot for many.  We appreciate the thoughts of support disney contemporary hotel and prayers we have received disney contemporary hotel from our loyal guests and ask you to pray for all who have strong ties to this property and community.
We are so very sad to learn of the fire and lose of the main lodge at Michillinda. We vacationed there for at least 32 years and made many friends. We first started going there when the lodge was owned by the Johannsons and after they retired disney contemporary hotel their son-in-law and wife , Don and Sue Eilers, took over. Our children really grew up there. It was our summer vacation and the only vacation any of us wanted! My husband once asked the children if they would like to go to Ireland and their reply was only if we can go to Michillinda too
Going to the Michillinda each summer was like returning home to a place where time stood still. The smells of the flowers and the food, the sound of the Lake, the most safe of havens for any child, they were always there. We had friends we made when I was a child, and when my parents brought my sister and I s children, they made life-long friends as well. I knew the paths like the back of my hand. My children disney contemporary hotel chose Michillinda over Florida and I feel the same. There is something there that no other place can quite have. My parents discovered it on their honeymoon in the early sixties and we have a lifetime of memories there.
I will miss the Lodge. I have many memories there from my youth late night cards, reading James Bond novels under a lamp, chasing my sisters, and many, many wonderful meals in the dinning room. Sad day .
