The beaches at these surf spots are deserted with one mini store selling drinks, and a few campers from the U.S. It was beautiful and I never felt unsafe anywhere.
I have traveled all over Mexico also. You have to be careful when traveling away from the tourist areas now. Many people thought it would be safe, and it was not and they are gone. I am going to Puerto Vallarta soon. We will be in the resort area and I am not worried about anything, however, I will not travel out of the area.

I ve been to Cabo more than anywhere else, and have also traveled to Zihuatanejo, Puerto Escondido, Mexico City and several Baja destinations, including Rosarito Beach, Tijuana, Ensenada and San Quintin.
