Hello again, last time I left off I discussed going to Mcleoganj , the Bazaar and the first week of classes. After the first week we had the unique opportunity of having dinner with the Tibetan students who are studying at the AOTC. The experience was incredible and one of the highlights of the trip. It was a great experience being able to cross cultures and truly get to know the students own personal experiences. The man I was paired up with was named Jong Pa, and he was very funny and intelligent. He told me his classes were very difficult and that they studied Tibetan, Chinese, Tibetan Philosophy, English and Tibetan Medicine. I was very impressed with both his English skills and his receptiveness to the initially awkward situation of being put in a room with a bunch of strangers from a totally different place. The night began with tea and food, and then was followed by traditional Tibetan performances from some of the staff at Norbulingka which was very nice. After, one of our group mates decided to get his guitar and give the Tibetans la quinta inn and suites federal way a little taste of some American music, which started a whole chain reaction of student performances, from Tibetans and Americans la quinta inn and suites federal way alike. The nights turned la quinta inn and suites federal way out to be a huge party and we met many new friends. We were able to stay in touch with many of the students la quinta inn and suites federal way and have since seen them on many occasions. Next time I will talk about out daily meditations with the Geshe until then .
