I finally got a bike! It's a "vintage" Peugot from the 80's. steel blue 10 speed road bike complete with foot holders and straps on the petals, cheap plain tickets rear wheel generator for the front headlight and rear light, and front and back breaks. the frame is a little too tall for me but i love this bike and its in great shape. cheap plain tickets I got it used from a guy on leboncoin.fr (it's what they use here instead of craigslist). i got it for 250 euros ($325)
i took the white straps off and am thinking about taking the foot holders off because i don't like my feet trapped in there. if i was really riding this tour de france style or for long distances on the road i would leave them all on but in the city i have to stop and go and jump off too much.

Up to Sept 2010 photos taken with the decent Canon Powershot SD1000 , then Powershot SD780 pocket cameras. Next, a few months with the totally useless Casio Exilim EX-FS10 pocket camera. After Sept 2010 most photos taken with a Canon EOS 40D (sold May '12) with 20-35mm f/2.8 L (sold May '12), 50mm f/1.8 , and 35mm f/2.0 prime lenses. After June 2011 most photos taken with a Canon 5D mark II and the above lenses and the crappy Nikon Coolpix S5100 pocket camera. From Dec 2011 at least half the photos taken with a 24mm f/1.4 L.
