I was a fan of Nora long before I interviewed her but you never know what to expect when talking to these people in person (or over the phone, whatever the case may be). I was then staying at an extended stay hotel in Atlanta GA. When they moved in there, they invited me over there to what they called Klub Kanyon. Klub Kanyon was the place to be. Chris was so nice and welcoming so many new up and comers to his home and making them feel important.

I will never forget, we watched the PPV where Miss Kitty and Mae Young were in a swim suit contest. It s the one where Miss Kitty I think revealed her knockers and Mae Young did as well, I can t remember exactly. It s funny because everyone thought that Kanyon was like the coolest ever because he had TiVo and we could see Mae Young hundreds and hundreds of times over again. I personally didn t think it was that great but the guys that were there thought it was hilarious. Also, one of the traditions at Kanyon s house is that whenever there was a royal rumble we would pay money to pick a number and then if our wrestler won the rumble then we would get the pot. I think Shark Boy won it one year. But it was just kind of like this really fun atmosphere. Chris was always super positive and people just felt so comfortable cruise wedding packages around him even though he was super famous and on TV and had accomplished so many things.

What I liked about Klub Kanyon was that there might have been a couple of people drinking a few beers there, cruise wedding packages but it was never a hardcore drug scene, it was all good fun. Like sometimes when you think of a celebrity lifestyle or whatever you think of hardcore drugs and strippers and blah blah blah. But it was like his house was just a place where you felt welcome and felt comfortable. Everyone that was involved with the scene at Klub Kanyon were just people who were really down to earth.
Just in October, I was in New York City and I had breakfast with Chris. He came down into the city to visit me because I was at Apple Con doing an autograph signing. So after breakfast, I asked Chris to come hang out with me at Apple Con. He said Oh ok . And so he came and kind of shared my little autograph booth with me. He was just so great with all the fans that came up to him. The fans would all be like Oh man Kanyon! Who betta? and they would all be excited and he would give them free photos of himself. Fans would come up to him and say something like Oh man, my brother is a big fan of yours! So Chris would respond with Oh well here, give him a picture. Nobody else just gives their pictures away. Especially autograph signings, most people just sell them. But Chris just wanted to make people happy. He wasn t all about taking money, he just really loved talking about wrestling and he loved being around excited cruise wedding packages wrestling fans. To see him be so generous with the fans, that was really inspiring for me to see that.

The other thing too about the whole coming out of the closet thing when he first made it public that he was homosexual, I didn t hear from him, So I sent him a text message saying Hey what s going on? He responded with Oh you still want to be friends with me? I was like Well, yeah . He responds with I thought, you know because of the whole church thing (Because I happen to love Jesus) I had to tell him Well that must be a misconception because Jesus loves you too. It s not like you re not lovable anymore. So I told him I still want to be friends, it doesn t affect cruise wedding packages our friendship. It was really nice that he still wanted to be friends with me, so I was glad that we got through that drama.
And I wish I could have been around, it s tough when you live in a different state when he was going through tough times and I wasn t really there to help support him in person. But I was aware that he had some rough times too.
