However, before we hit the main road again, we stopped at the famed Purakaunui Falls, which are appa

Sam her friend Rhi are our latest lucky friends las vegas plaza hotel who got to take Coco, our Social Cabana away for a free adventure around the South Island of New Zealand.  It sounds like they had heaps of fun even though they didn t have the best luck or weather!  If you're keen to check out more photos from their trip you can do so here .  Jealous?  Then apply to take Coco away on an adventure yourself.  She is FREE!  Check out www.jucy4free.co.nz Love, Lucy xx
It's quite hard to get lost at Queenstown airport – what with it being only one room but we somehow managed it this morning. This trip with Coco was getting off to an interesting start it's a good job Coco comes with GPS!
The first stop of the day, (after grabbing groceries) was Arrowtown where we wandered around the old Chinese Settlement, which harked back to the gold rush times in this area. We spent about an hour here and tested out Coco's cooking facilities – by making sandwiches!
We had been away from Queenstown for just over an hour when our plans changed. Instead of heading las vegas plaza hotel over the Crown Range Road to Wanaka to visit friends who had recently las vegas plaza hotel moved there, we instead headed North through the Lindis Pass, then onto Omarama, and Twizel before we stopped for a break at the head of Lake Pukaki.
Now, if the weather las vegas plaza hotel had been nice today we would have been able to see Mt. Cook from this viewpoint, with a lovely blue lake in front of it. As the weather was not nice, we saw……. nothing, well a grey lake but that wasn't las vegas plaza hotel what we were here for, so it was back in the car for the final hour drive to Mt. Cook Village and our overnight stop.
We decided to head off on the Hooker Valley walk; however a short distance into it the weather closed in and we were forced las vegas plaza hotel to turn back. We did get to see icebergs and a glacier at the Mueller Glacier lookout point before we headed back though, and we also paid our respects to all those people that have lost their lives in the National Park.
Once back at Coco, as it was starting to get dark we made dinner and set up camp for the night. Having stayed in a camper before we thought it was going to be quite difficult to set up the bed and get everything all sorted, but Coco cooperated well with us and didn't put up too much of a struggle!
As night drew in and the temperature dropped, we settled las vegas plaza hotel in for a long, cold night… Unsurprisingly we spent the majority of the night awake, not only did it get extremely las vegas plaza hotel cold, but it also started raining so it was to our mutual pleasure that when we emerged from the car in the early morning light it was to discover that it had snowed, and that the sky was a brilliant blue! Better yet, we could also see Aoraki/Mt. Cook from where we parked las vegas plaza hotel up – bonus!
On the way we passed the Dam's and Lakes of Benmore, Aviemore, and Waitaki, which make up the majority of the hydroelectric scheme in the central lakes area (Tekapo, Pukaki, and Ohau are also part of this scheme too) as we were driving along the banks of Lake Benmore however, the blue skies that we had when we left Mt. Cook Village, turned an ugly grey and out of nowhere it started to rain.
A bit further on we pulled in at one of the reasons las vegas plaza hotel we had decided to take this route the Maori rock drawings, and spurred on by another car in the small carpark we headed las vegas plaza hotel off up the path to have a look, but it was not to be… there had been a rockfall and the area had been closed off. This was also the case when we got to the second set of rock drawings a few km's down the road.
So we stayed in the car and headed off instead to the Elephant Rocks, where they filmed scenes from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. They do not however look like Elephants at all, but we all (Lucy included) enjoyed ourselves walking around the site, even though we had to dodge the endless las vegas plaza hotel amounts of sheep and cow poo.
Back in Coco, and still heading East we came across a barrier in the road – the road had been closed – so we turned back and drove back along the way we had just driven until we got back to Duntroon and the SH83.
In retrospect we think that the road we had chosen to drive on was closed due to flooding, las vegas plaza hotel as we had noticed a number of fields that could be described as ponds along the route, even the main road we were now on was flooding in places and had to be forded in a number of places.
It was a relief to reach Oamaru where the rain seemed to ease off whilst we had a quick lunch and a wander around the Victorian quarter. Oamaru however wasn't our stop for the night so we got back in Coco and hit SH1 heading south to Dunedin. Our only stop on the way was at the Moeraki Boulders, but it was not the right time to visit, not only had it started raining again, but the tide was high and so we had no way of safely getting to them.
Coco and Lucy persuaded us to get up super early so that we could find our way across town to the Steepest Street in the world – Baldwin Street. With a gradient of 1 in 2.82 we chose to leave Coco behind at the bottom of the hill and hike up instead. Let me tell you this – I would NOT like to live on this street! But we all made it to the top.
After a quick stop at the shop at the bottom of the street to buy certificates to prove we had done it we headed back to Coco who was getting lonely, and headed back through the city, passing the Botanical Gardens (the oldest in NZ) to the road that would take us out to Port Chalmers.
A coastal route took us around to the other side of the harbour, and onto the Otago Peninsula, where we were hoping to catch a glimpse of the wildlife, but true to form – as it is us and we are unlucky – the majority of places that we had planned on walking to or stopping at were closed due to the start of the lambing season, or for renovations – as in the case for the Albatross centre.
So we instead drove the inland route back to Dunedin, stopping so that Rhi and Lucy could take in the only castle las vegas plaza hotel in NZ which WAS open, now while they did this Sam stayed with Coco and finally figured out how to make the WiFi work which was actually pretty easy for a technically las vegas plaza hotel challenged person!
We headed back to Dunedin, parked up by the Octogan and went and grabbed some culture at the Art Gallery, and a coffee too – before heading back to St Kilda and the place we had stayed the night before.
We woke up to the best weather of the trip so far, and after checking the tide times we decided las vegas plaza hotel that we would change our plans slightly and head back to the Moeraki Boulders which we had to leave without seeing last time.
The sun was blazing down the whole way and despite a tour bus full of people pulling las vegas plaza hotel up at the same time as us, we all had a great time playing about on and in the massive boulders, Lucy even did some sunbathing!
After being there about an hour we headed back South and once back in Dunedin we took a detour that may or may not have ended up with us getting slightly lost, anyway, once we were on the correct road.
We had planned to spend the night at another Department of Conservation campsite however, after much discussion it was decided that we would head all the way to Invercargill tonight, mainly because the majority of the things we wanted to see were closed yet again for Lambing season!
However, before we hit the main road again, we stopped at the famed Purakaunui Falls, which are apparently las vegas plaza hotel the most photographed in the whole of NZ – and with good reason, especially today after all that rain because they were really gushing!!!
We reached Fortrose just outside of Invercargill as the sun started setting the perfect end to a great day, or so we thought. Sam's excellent direction giving had us practically back in Queenstown before she realised that we were headed in the wrong direction for the campsite we had planned on staying at! Thankfully we found the place OK once we were going in the right direction.
The first stop of the day however was just down the road at Oreti Beach, which is where Burt Munroe (of the fastest Indian fame) used to race his motorbikes. You can drive on this beach, but we chose to leave Coco by the side of the road and explore on foot instead.
On our way out of Invercargill we stopped at the Southland Museum and Art Gallery where we saw lots of quilts and more stuff that was related to Burt Munroe. It is a small museum it didn't take us long to get around so we were soon on our way again, out to the most Southern part of NZ that we would be visiting on this trip – Bluff.
We came to Bluff to visit the famous signpost, the twin of the one we had seen at Cape Reinga on the North Island all the months ago that we did, and so we could see the new sculpture at Stirling Point, of an Anchor chain. It is meant to be the one attached to Stewart Island in the famous Maori legend of how New Zealand came to be.
We headed back to Invercargill, las vegas plaza hotel fed Coco and headed west, stopping las vegas plaza hotel at Colac Bay, Cosy Nook and McCrackens Rest, all the while watching Fiordland National Park's mountains grow bigger in our windscreen.
From here it was pretty much a straight las vegas plaza hotel drive to Te Anau, we only stopped at a viewpoint over Lake Manapouri , and then made our way the final few km's into town. We set up camp and headed straight out to see the 5pm showing of 'Ata Whenua' a film about Fiordland which was really good and thanks to Coco we even got a discount – so it was a bargain too. It had been a long day and everyone was tired so we all hit the sack early.
An unexpected las vegas plaza hotel turn of events meant that today was going to be our last day with Coco, so we had some breakfast and hit the road, going East again and then North back to Queenstown. Once we reached the start of Lake Waikatipu at Kingston, we spent the rest of the day winding our way along its banks, until we reached the other end at Glenorchy, where we had a quick bite to eat and then headed back to Queenstown again to drop Coco off with her family at the airport.
All in all we have had a really great time with Coco and was very impressed not only with how she is different to all the other Jucy campers (she is pu
