Since I’m a former art student, I’ll probably finish my tour of Chelsea with the Gagosian Gallery. T

Chelsea is one of the most contemporary areas of New York City. Since the mass immigration of artists who were dissatisfied with the quickly-rising rents in SoHo in the late 1990s, maui beach vacation rentals Chelsea has become more and more diverse and is now a global center of contemporary art and cosmopolitan culture. In this blog, I've put together a short list of things I'd like to do in Chelsea next time I visit the Big Apple.
Any visit to Chelsea has to start with a trip to Chelsea Market. Once home to the first Nabisco plant—where Oreos were first made in 1912—the market now houses more than two dozen gourmet food shops, independent restaurants, maui beach vacation rentals and upscale boutiques. Its curious mix of brick structural architecture and industrial pipes makes it reminiscent of old European markets. I'll definitely be making a stop at Posman Books, one of the last independent bookstores in New York City, and Ninth Street Espresso. Maybe I'll even grab a sandwich maui beach vacation rentals from Friedman's Lunch and take it onto the High Line.
The High Line, which opened in June 2011, is one of New York City's newest parks. It was created to repurpose a freight maui beach vacation rentals rail line that operated from 1934 until 1980. It transformed what had been a bare structure elevated above Chelsea into an extraordinary public space, featuring public art installations maui beach vacation rentals and beautiful small sculptures along the length of the park. The High Line can be accessed at any number of points between 10 th and 11 th Avenues, and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Since I'm a former art student, I'll probably finish my tour of Chelsea with the Gagosian Gallery. maui beach vacation rentals This international gallery maui beach vacation rentals has a location on Chelsea's West 24 th St., which is currently showing works by Ed Ruscha, maui beach vacation rentals an artist whose paintings show a particular consideration for the written word. The gallery is open from 10:00a.m. until 6:00p.m. Monday-Saturday. Those with car rentals New York can park their vehicles in the nearby garage for $24 a day. The streets of Chelsea are lined with galleries and studios, so I'll take my time and check out a few. The Ana Cristea Gallery on 26 th St and the Phoenix Gallery on 25 th St. both look interesting.
Of course, as with any place in New York City, there is much more to see and do in Chelsea that I haven't even begun to address. maui beach vacation rentals When you visit in your car rental NYC , make sure you don't miss even a little of what Chelsea has to offer!
