It becomes obvious that a theme is developing in this issue. It's spelled out on the cover and lyrics of a song repeat throughout the issue. "That's entertainment" concludes each stanza. We've borrowed from The Jam to introduce a few pieces and the headline itself is used twice elsewhere inside. It's part of the Mod conversion. You'll also notice the hexagon as a roundel on the cover. It's in honour of the star of 2012. Bradley Wiggins is everywhere: his image is repeated often in the next few pages.
He's obscured best time to travel in italy in the shot in Paris ( left ). At the front we see Richie Porte ahead of Christian Knees and then the rest of the Sky team on the final day of the Tour. The Arc de Triomphe hovers over the peloton minutes before the race is over.
The end was utterly entertaining. The yellow jersey, the first British rider to ever win the Tour de France, was leading it out. With one kilometre to go in the 99th edition, Wiggo let his team-mate Edvald Boasson Hagen follow through and he did a turn of pace that delivered Mark Cavendish to the exit of the Place de la Concorde and the world champion would win. Again. best time to travel in italy Four times in a row! Only this time, as part of the squad that also had riders in first and second overall.
He's done it and we haven't. No one can boast what Wiggo can of 2012. There was so much expectation that, if he cracked, we would have almost understood it. He had done so much at the start of the season and never did he stray: rock solid until the flamme rouge in Paris – and steady all the way to the finish of the TT in London. After his last surge in the Tour, he could coast to the finish in the slipstream of a peloton that, for all the talent present, couldn't get near him during best time to travel in italy the lap of France. Around the hexagon they went, some crashed out, others faltered, but everyone tried to be better than Brad. None were. There's best time to travel in italy a reason he's everywhere in this issue.
He's done what surely can't be repeated. That's entertainment. For me at least. There are many other topics up for discussion. There's more to cycling than winning bike races and I hope you enjoy Brad's story and all the others in this issue.
